About Us


Hello,

    My name is Paul Bourgeois.  I am from Lafayette Louisiana.  I grew up there but moved around quite a bit.  From Connecticut to Maryland to Texas and California, ending up in North Carolina in 1997.

    North Carolina is the furniture capitol of the world.  I was looking for a new opportunity.  6 months later I opened Black Swan Furniture in Kernersville, just outside of Greensboro.  The building was 1200 square feet and didn't even have real doors. No air Condition.  It looked like a small barn.  It was a garage door that closed up at night and kept the elements out.  I built a track there and was able to slide plexi glass back and forth so customers could see in as they drove by.  I was still proud.  Eventually, I got real french doors in place of the plexi glass.  I was at the busiest intersection in town.  That has good and bad points.  Kernersville was growing.  They needed to widen the road.

    The day that I found out that the city was going to tear the building down my heart just dropped!  Wow.  Time to start over.  Completely.  I leased the place so I got NO compensation whatsoever.  The road was widened and there is no building there anymore.  I had to get a new place.  Quick.

    After much deliberating and thought, I decided to move to Florida.  Really a no brainer.  Great weather, great economy.  People flooding in droves to move there, needing furniture..........no problem.  I also had lots of
friends living there!

    So after checking out the area with a location in Clearwater and one near St
Petersburg Florida I opened the store that I'm in now in Palm Harbor.
I've been here for about 5 years now.

    I work with Charlotte Walet and Jacki Bourgeois, my wife.
Jacki works assisting our customer service line. Charlotte's background is in sales & marketing and in the area rug business.


    Charlotte runs a rug department at the store assisting our Clients with their decorating needs to find the perfect rug that sets off the room. The rug department has beautiful rugs from around the world, including hand knotted, hand tufted, 100% wool rugs.

    We work with builders, decorators, the public and can help you to stage your home if you have a need. We can help you with the simplest room to more complex projects.

    You are welcome to come and visit and look around, or just to say Hi.
